Federico Fellini's masterpiece “La Dolce Vita”, winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes, is not just a film but a true work of art, as agreed upon by audiences and critics alike. Pushing the boundaries of cinematic art with its shooting techniques, dream sequences, and extraordinary characters, the film takes Roman journalist Marcello Rubini on a journey through the city's nightlife. As Marcello encounters people from different walks of life such as artists, aristocrats, journalists, models, and sex workers, he begins to question not only his own values but also the complexities of human nature. Fellini captures the social and moral changes of 1960s Italy with a bold perspective, long tracking shots, striking compositions, and innovative editing, heralding a new aesthetic understanding and experimental approach in cinema. The unforgettable music by Nino Rota, the iconic performance by Marcello Mastroianni, and, of course, Anita Ekberg’s famous Trevi Fountain scene all contribute to the film’s enduring allure, as “La Dolce Vita”, continues to captivate audiences for 61 years without losing its seductive power.
