The documentary directed by Callisto McNulty focuses on the feminist movement in Europe during 1970s. Numerous issues on feminist agenda of the time, such as the legalization of abortion, free birth control opportunities, rights of sexual minorities meet with the audience from the viewpoint of Delphine Seyrig, actress and women’s rightist, and, Carole Roussopoulos, documentary film-maker and video artist.
In 1970s, when feminist movement awakens gradually, Seyrig and Roussopolous come together to establish the women’s video collective “Insoumuses” and start to film together the feminist struggle at the time; this is how a series of video serving just like an archive appears. Shaped by the creative and ground-breaking perspective of the duo, these videos have become the starting point of the documentary Delphine et Carole, Insoumuses as a source of inspiration for the director Callisto McNulty, after almost 40 years.
Delphine et Carole, Insoumuses incorporates the sections from the said video series, the photographs of Seyrig and Roussopolous, as well as the interview made with Carole Roussopolous. The documentary centers around the women’s rights struggle during 1970s over the friendship of Seyrig and Roussopolous, aiming to establish a bond between the women’s movement at the time with the movement today.

Summer of 1939... A traveller and photographer Ella Maillart sets off from Europe to Asia with her friend Annemarie Schwarzenbach. She has a purpose to record a movie in the countries she visits. All her plans go upside down when she arrives at Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. She begins a journey within herself; she does not travel between countries anymore, she travels within herself and existence now.
This is how Maillart’s journey in British India starts. She travels all alone in the region for almost a year and has a chance to observe closer the colonial system. She not only records via camera what she sees; but also tells the story on her letters and diaries. These letters, diaries, footages and photographs reveal the documentary Ella Maillart: Double Journey, inspiring the directors Antonio Bigini and Mariann Lewinsky after 75 years
Ella Maillart: Double Journey addresses the colonialism, gender norms and international policies in the eyes of the remarkable traveller of 20th century, promising an unforgettable experience to the audience. Diaries and letters of Maillart are narrated by the voice of a great actress, Irène Jacob.

    Seating Plan:

    The Venue: Guests could enter the venue 2 hours before the session for which they have a ticket.
    We would like to remind that the ticket allows enjoying the designated areas only. Visiting the film sets in Beykoz Kundura is not permitted. We kindly ask you to stay in the designated area.
    Recording with a professional camera is not allowed unless you have a written permit. We ask you to leave your recording devices to the security point at the entrance of Beykoz Kundura.
    Screenings: All the films, except from the children’s film, will be screened in the original language with Turkish subtitles. In case of a technical problem in the electronic subtitle system, first we will try to fix it and if it could not be fixed, the screening will be held without subtitles.
    After the sessions begin, it is not allowed to enter the hall. We kindly ask our guests to attend the sessions on time.
    Children: Children under the age of 3 are not allowed in the movie theaters to protect their hearing health. We kindly ask you not to bring children under the age of 7 to the movie theater, unless there is a children’s movie.
    Recording: Recording by camera, mobile phone or any recording device is not allowed during the sessions.
    Food&Drink: You may enjoy the food and drink services at Kundura Cinema or you may prefer Beykoz Kundura’s restaurant, Demirane.
