The documentary The Feminister centers around Margot Wallström who was the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Sweden between 2014 and 2019. Director Viktor Nordenskiöld, who filmed Wallström, known for her feminist policies, for about four years, reveals in his documentary the brave and effective actions of Minister on one hand, and points out the international political atmosphere and the women’s place within this atmosphere, on the other.

Having a strong and brave character, Margot Wallström has an effective role not only in the Swedish and European politics, but also in the world politics. During her term of office, she came up with tough agreements signed between the countries that are not very assertive about woman’s rights, such as Saudi Arabia, Israel and North Korea. Criticizing also the child marriages in Turkey, Wallström has become a source of inspiration for the politicians of many countries like Canada and France, with her policies prioritizing social gender equality.  Wallström aroused global attention with the campaign she conducted for being a member of the United Nations' Security Council.

Wallström’s such effect is known by more and more people now with the documentary The Feminister.  The documentary successfully reflects Wallström’s political actions as well as her state of mind within this process. Stress related illnesses, death threats, aloneness, fear… All the states and emotions Wallström has to cope with despite her strong stance are reflected to the audience highly sincerely and strikingly.
